Spending a not-so-lazy afternoon working on my campaign for . The Heroes of Hope are battling their way through corrupt Hool Wastes, fighting demons, undead, and worse.

Naturally, I need to find a few more enemies for them to fight. Good thing I brought a few books...

Greyhawk im Revised Dungeon Master's Guide

https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/dungeons-dragons-greyhawk-2024-dungeon-masters-guide/

[...] the upcoming re-release of the Dungeon Master's Guide will use #Greyhawk as an example as to how Dungeon Masters can build their own campaign world. [...] the book will offer "ample info to bring Greyhawk to life, but leaves much undetailed." A two-sided poster map of Greyhawk, featuring both the Greyhawk campaign setting (assumably a map of Oerth) and the City of Greyhawk will also be included [...]

The Helm of Positivity came into play during tonight's game, in which the paladin Valinor summoned a wall of radiance.

And damn, is that thing bright or what?

The shadows I'd planned to ambush the party with were forced to retreat from the brilliant light, which also revealed their original corpses in the nearby lake.

Those corpses - nicely pickled - led the group to suspect there is a black dragon lair nearby.

Working on my #DnD #ElementalApocalpyse campaign and spending too much time mucking about with my overland campaign map in #Inkarnate.

Still, it's helpful for my mental map to understand exactly where the Hell Furnaces begin and the Crystalmists begin.

As always, @annabmeyer's #Greyhawk maps are essential for this. Here's a handy, zoomable version of her full map: https://www.easyzoom.com/imageaccess/fddacc2e6202436baabe469f00783411

Time to drown the world. Or at least the Hold of the Sea Princes in #Greyhawk. First up, learning about lakes and rivers in #Inkarnate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wsOJ37W9Nw

I'd forgotten about this handy resource for World of Greyhawk-based campaigns: "Random Name Tables for the Peoples of the Flanaess" https://odd74.proboards.com/thread/10206/random-names-flanaess #Greyhawk #RandomNames

Thinking of creating a regional map (Yeomanry, Hold of the Sea Princes, Keoland, Sterich, Geoff) for my #ElementalApocalpyse campaign using Inkarnate instead of Worldography.

I like Worldographer, but I feel like I'm spending more time futzing with the interface than I am building out the map (making me less likely to actually build out the map)..

So ... I'll try Inkarnate instead (as it has a bunch of assets for overland maps).

To start, I need a good version of the #Greyhawk map. Thankfully, there's this spiffy new digital version of the Darlene map: https://batintheattic.blogspot.com/2021/12/happy-needfest-digital-darlene-greyhawk.html

For 27 years, this guy has published stories that arose out of his D&D Greyhawk campaign - including what are essentially play by plays of many classic D&D modules before segueing to original stories based on the characters.

It’s a 27 year old rabbit hole to get lost in…

This Bats in the Attic post helped; it includes 6-mile, hexcrawl-style versions of the Darlene #Greyhawk maps. https://batintheattic.blogspot.com/2021/12/happy-needfest-digital-darlene-greyhawk.html
