Mini Text is an ephemeral text editor. It doesn't save your text to files and doesn't allow for complex formatting. It's for writing thoughts down quickly - your digital scratchpad. Most useful after turning on "Always on Top" for the window. For somewhere to save your ideas, to write down something quickly and without fuss, try Mini Text!

You can follow the app's creator here: @Nokse

You can get the app on Flathub here: https://flathub.org/apps/io.github.nokse22.minitext

Linux Mint 22 will hide unverified Flatpaks in the Software Manager app by default. Users will be able to choose to see and install them, albeit with warnings - https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2024/06/linux-mint-will-hide-unverified-flatpaks

I use on wayland and keep getting various apps showing the generic Wayland icon in the dock. I found a relatively easy fix at this section of Nick's @thelinuxEXP video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sungl8gWU_8&t=129s

Shout out to Text Pieces! I needed to URL-encode a big ugly string (creating a template form from URL parameters, yay!) and yep, sure enough, it made it stupidly easy.

The next time you need to encode, transform, or convert some text on Linux, reach for this pretty little offline app instead of pasting your data into some random website. 👍
