If there's such a thing as the Long tail, then #Mastodon represents one of the spikes of that tail. Someone discovering something I wrote months ago showing up in notifications as either favorited or boosted just amazes me. Never happened on the other network.
I've been on the other network since late 2000s. A few years ago I created a concept map with links to #hashtag conversations related to work I was interested in. I use it frequently to visit and see what's been added since. I often reTweet some of these older posts.
