For all this #GBNews saga, #Ofcom should take quite a bit of the blame for it.
They sat back for 2 1/2 years, and allowed them - either they were scared of the audience they were cultivating, they agreed with it, or I believe most likely, because the government 'advised' them to - to do whatever they wanted.
Attack over-and-over their chosen 'enemies within'.
Right back on night one, they saw what #DanWootton put out on his show - and came out and said they saw nothing odd.
@rooftopaxx Ooof. He's had that wench Susan Hall on this morning - the Tory candidate for London Mayor. Her verdict on the little girl who died because of the toxic air quality in London a couple of years ago: "yeah, it was really sad, but she had asthma". 🤬🤬 #ToxicTories#UKPolitics#UKMedia
So today, #GBNews are getting very angry that there were EU flags being waved at Last Night of the #Proms, and are gaslighting their audience that it's "never happened before" according to Anne Diamond opening their Breakfast show, with her and Stephen Dixon (what a fall from grace from Sky to this lot) performatively going along with it.
A 10 second search finds the truth.
You could tell they knew it was made up, as they were uncomfortable saying it, yet still went along with it.
I know I've said this before, but twice this afternoon I've turned on #GBNews and of course they're talking about #trans people, and completely making up shit.
Christine Hamilton says they are "0.00%" of the population, yet are given all this air in society - as they are the ones constantly doing agitprop against them.
How are we supposed to have this 'rational debate' - with those who created this whole anti-trans hysteria - when they don't act in good faith to begin with?
It is incredible just that The #Telegraph ran with a story very shaky in the first place. But then after three days of pushing it as 'fact', have spent the last two days furiously rowing it back, and now spinning it to gaslight you into believing that what they said, they didn't.
And we are all fine with accepting this from our media. Some believe it still.
If this whole 'cat child' saga, where we now have our right-wing government spending more time on this 'tale'...
Just when you thought you could make it through Thursday, up pops The Telegraph and Katherine Birbalsingh, to once again I question what reality I live in.
This woman - and the whole right-wing media and pundit ecosystem pushing all of this tripe - is not serious.
Yet the brain-dead and the brain broken among us believe it - all of this tripe they feed every day.
Over the past 3/4 days there has been this 'cat child' 'exposé' - by Turning Point's UK division no less - that has been rumbling around the right-wing media ecosystem, and the whole thing feels really sus.
It all feels way too perfect, as a way to further the Right's non-stop anti-trans propaganda, discourse and hysteria.
The #Telegraph are now on day two of reporting about this! Showing how unserious of a newspaper they are now.
