#Returnal is, simply put, a damn masterpiece. And it's not for its great gfx powered by #UE4, nor for the superb soundtrack. No, it's cos of the various gameplay mechanics you make acquaintance with little by little, as you die and live again, from the beginning. All of them force you to make decisions that will deeply affect your fate. Somehow this punishing, fast paced #thirdperson#bullethell#metroidvania#roguelike mongrel manages to keep you glued to the screen till the very end. #gaming
Hot take: 3rd person is completely superior to 1st person.
(Yet another reason I can't really enjoy #Cyberpunk2077 btw). I am not even one of those people who get motion sickness from games, but having your view limited to a widescreen monitor is like one step above climbing a tree in a knight's helmet.
Edit: I don't mind first person in #Fallout games, because I use VATS for 99.5% of all combat. I don't HAVE to see everything.
@WhyNotZoidberg For me it depends on the game, and even then I tend to oscillate between liking 1st and 3rd person. I love it when a game lets me smoothly change focus. Like how Crackdown has a far-away camera for running around and platforming, then over-the shoulder camera for shooting.
