Vaccination, DEI, and climate change will no longer exist at these Houston public schools.
"The board of trustees for the Cypress Fairbanks independent school district in #Houston voted 6-1 earlier this month to redact certain chapters in science #textbooks, including those about vaccines, human growth, diversity, and #ClimateChange.
The motion to remove the chapters was made by the board’s vice-president Natalie Blasingame and almost unanimously supported."
Where (in England) do they sell physical copies of mathematics and physics textbooks that you can pick up and peruse before buying?
The obvious answer is Foyles on Charing Cross Road, but lately the selection of maths & physics textbooks there has been pitiful. They're barely bothering to stock textbooks any more (it didn't look much better for the adjacent chemistry and biology sections either), and lately when I've gone, it's not sated my need to physically shop for textbooks.
"Life cycle diagrams are ubiquitous in science textbooks, and they may be due for some updates. A new study finds simple design changes in these diagrams can have a dramatic impact on the ability of undergraduate students to understand key biology concepts."
Karnataka revises school textbooks, reintroduces chapters by progressive writers
However, the committee decided not to include chapters on Tipu Sultan and Hyder Ali, which were dropped when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was in power.
@badrihippo You are unable to find fiction/nonfic books in Asia's second largest library?
This library has a collection of 550,000 books, a special section for Braille, children's books and manuscripts along with open access to journals on their website. You should think before you write such comments. If you're looking for current NYT bestsellers to come to your public library within a month start donating it to them. Another level of entitlement. It's a good library.
