I submitted two haiku to the Sakura Haiku Challenge of the Consulate-General in Toronto, Canada and they are both included in the beautiful anthology. Free to read and download: 👇🏽
We can numb it with
ice. It might take time.
But o’clock we’ve got.
And at absolute zero,
frozen stares and
charges flow in pairs,
with even the halting
halted on stairs, and
hate might as well
be a popsicle stand
and it’s loving
standing still,
by the way.
Boy, this auction liquidator said "screw it, no photos, no lots, we're just going to sell the whole damn thing" Anyone want a Red Lobster (INCLUDING EVERYTHING IN THE PREMISES)? #RedLobster#bankruptcy#auction#liquidator
Stoves, fish tanks, fryers, chairs,
It's all yours and cheap--whatever's on the floor
You have to move quick, pay in cash
We need that money NOW, gotta move things out the door
Need a dining booth and a matching chair?
Fridge, plates, forks, knives and spoons?
Make a bid now, and make it soon!
It might all be yours tomorrow, for just a doubloon!
Why you may ask are we shutting down things?
Little tiny lobsters just don't sell
Hurry hurry gotta get that cash
Sheesh, this kind of stress just makes me yell
Here's a video of Steve Jobs showcasing a new feature in iTunes... podcasts!
"You could try to sell podcasts but the whole phenomenon is so great - it's free. And I think what we're going to see is an advertising-supported model emerge, just like free radio."
Apparently the term 'podcast' is a portmanteau of 'iPod' and 'broadcasting'. Here, Steve picks the latest episode from the Adam Curry Podcast and is quick to hit the stop button. 😆
Speaking of podcasts, Poetry Unbound is a lovely relaxing listen. It's a gateway into poetry for those that haven't yet found an appreciation for it and an audio-booster for those that already enjoy poetry.
I think
You ought to be
Perfectly imprecise
And terribly unordered
According to the world’s standards
For when you do
Then
You shall find
The order of YOU
And this is as it should be
