Der #Planetenweg#Locarno führt von der Mündung der Maggia dem Fluss entlang bis nach #Tegna. Der Weg ist gut ausgebaut und geht, nicht steil, aber stetig hinauf. Der Weg ist nicht besonders ausgeschildert, die Modelle sind hübsch sind jedoch mehrheitlich dem Vandalismus zum Opfer gefallen. Die Sonne ist gar nicht mehr vorhanden, muss gemäss Bildern jedoch zu den spektakuläreren Modellen gehört haben.
#30DaysOfBiking, Day 21: Took part in the mass bicycle tour #slowUp#Ticino (https://slowup.ch/ticino/) with the #Brompton. I rode 52.4km according to the Garmin GPS. Officially it's a 50km round course between #Locarno and #Bellinzona. Took me 4h45min including all breaks. Needed the e-assist more often than expected due partially hefty wind. It had around 15 degrees C, though. So temperature-wise it was a comfortable ride. There were surely several thousand cyclists taking part in the event.
#Locarno🇨🇭is home to a lovely #funicular: the departure point is right next to the SBB/FFS train station. The line goes up to Madonna del Sasso pilgrimage site at Orselina. The line opened in 1906 and the cars currently in use date back to 1958.

Good morning from the #Centovallina🇨🇭#Vigezzina 🇮🇹 railway. Leaving #Locarno, I’m the only passenger on the 08:51 “Diretto” to #Domodossola. From the rear of the train one gets a “faux cab-view” impression of the line.
At “Olgia2” crossover we meet another #SSIF ABe8/8 unit. These lovely trainsets were built in the late 1950s. Their refurbished interior design comes with a 1980s feel. 😉
High up above Val #Vigezzo 🇮🇹 in #Piemonte this afternoon. A breathtakingly beautiful autumn day. And of course I needed to take a picture of the #Centovalli🇨🇭Express, running from #Domodossola to #Locarno.
“Meet” on the #Vigezzina 🇮🇹 narrow-gauge railway line earlier today: #SSIF units ABe8/8 “Ossola” (built 1959) and ABe6/6 “Piemonte” (from 1968) pass each other at Orcesco-Gagnone station, working the last #Locarno to #Domodossola through service of the day and a local to #Re respectively.
