American Star – Ian McShane is a hitman in Gran Canaria who becomes enamoured by the locals in this ponderous film. Not essential but he’s very good.
Pig – I loved this. I'm not a huge Cage fan but this is undoubtedly his best performance. He's still and exudes steely determination in this revenge thriller that plays with the very notion of what revenge is. It completely upended me.
Red Desert – Antonioni's first colour film stars Monica Vitti as a woman on the verge of of a nervous breakdown. Visually stunning, and she is mesmerisingly raw in this.
Perfect Days – Everyone seems to love this languid film of a Tokyo toilet cleaner, but it’s flabby, at times silly, unfocused, and needs a lot of editing. I can see why people loved it but I found it drumroll bog standard.
First, a horror sequel that (hands down) outshines it's original, then a boat trip gone batty, followed by the OTHER "As you wish" movie, and finally Linda Blair's boozy Movie of the Week that just so happens to have a not yet skywalking farm boy in his film debut.

Horror #movie about dream study that, oddly enough, can put you to sleep at times because it takes so long to get going.
Teenage girl can't sleep. Goes to sleep study. Study identifies...things. Those things are apparently scary.
A lot of flashy lights disorient you, but you're never really compelled beyond "eh".
The movie's well acted enough and has a twist you laud for ambition if not execution.
An excellent remake of the George Romero classic. My Favorite Zack Snyder movie. James Gunn's screenplay mines every ounce of terror from the high-concept premise
You may now have a moment to Google what a "Mall" is.
That'll teach you to give birth right next to a Hot Dog on a Stick.
#LetterboxdFriday#lastfourwatched
The only thing actually funny about this movie is that an entire crew thought this makeup job was passable.
Children's funerals have garnered more laughs.
