My partner has pulled the trigger. He’s a proud new owner of a 2023 #Kia#EV6. It’s fully electric and amazing. We’ve both fallen down the rabbit hole of charging networks and researching public chargers. We also have a L2 charger for our home, but we have to wait for the electricians to install a 50A circuit outside where we can set up the new charger. 295 mile range on 100% charge, not half bad. #today#EV#vehicle
Hey, @takeitev , do you have opinions on entry level EVs in the US? No special circumstances (no kids, short commute, doesn't take road trips). Replacing an early 2000s mid-sized SUV now that they're no longer hauling a bunch of equipment for work. Iowa does have potentially icy winters.
@takeitev@ulidig if it's a super short commute, there's also the Kia Soul EV (sadly not the current gen, which #Kia don't sell in the US as an #EV, but the 15-19 variant (came in two battery sizes with around 80-100 miles of real world range)). The #chevrolet#SparkEV is also a good option if you're looking smaller / cheaper (but make sure it has rapid charging, if you need it, as that was optional).
You can also consider an earlier #Nissan#LEAF with a healthy battery pack or the (usually over priced) #VW#Golf EV.
We have some great videos on used EVs ( https://youtu.be/WJEP4gDUNyc for example) so do check out our channel (ad pitch over ;) )
So the Twin Ion Engine badges I installed on the #Kia last week started peeling away from the curve of the hood - the badge thickness combined with the foam adhesive backing (most assuredly NOT 3M) just didn't work out the way I'd hoped. SO! Last night at roughly 1:30am I sawed off the badges with fishing line, cleared the residue with 3M adhesive remover, and replaced them with two new badges which are thinner, more flexible, and 3M backed so they're NEVER coming off
So I switched out the front vanity plate on my #Kia and while I think it's a better look than the #FirstOrder trooper I had on before, I DO have to admit it's a lot like wearing a picture of yourself on a shirt #StarWars#Stormtrooper

Connecticut Attorney General William Tong ramped up efforts to force auto manufacturers Kia and Hyundai to install anti-theft technology in their vehicles on Tuesday when he announced a consumer protection investigation into easily stolen cars.
After yesterday's classic sports tourer today's #WeirdCarMastodon#NameThatCar challenge is a similar shape and idea but much newer! Officially a coupe, there might be some dissent from purists!
As ever can you name it from this image?

The answer to yesterdays #NameThatCar challenge was the throughly modern Kia Stinger GTS. It's an impressively stylish car so might make the cut to be a future classic. Obviously with 4 doors plus a hatch there will be some debate of it qualifies as coupe!
Well done if you got it! #YoungTimer#Kia#KiaStinger
