Matilda wants to remind us all that she is, in fact, a princess and can do whatever she wants… like jump up on the hearth… which is what she did this morning. #Bunny#HouseRabbit#BunniesOfMastodon
Matilda is doing well and continuing to improve - still not 100% but moving in the right direction. She’s also been quite active - even doing some turbos this morning! (It’s nap time now, though.) #Bunny#BunnyHealth#HouseRabbit#BunniesOfMastodon
Morning Matilda update: she's doing well, lots of poops overnight and eating her greens and nibbling her hay. Doctor is happy for her to come home today. They packed her surgery site on her cheek with antibiotic beads and foam to keep out infection (and so we don't have to keep flushing at home - they've been flushing at the hospital and have seen no discharge, which is good). So plan is to get her at 4pm today!
A very quick morning Matilda update: she is doing well, all vitals good and in the doctor's words she is "pooping up a storm." She is also starting to eat greens on her own, and has been seen nibbling some hay.
They will be transitioning her to all-oral meds today (except for 1 antibiotic which needs to be injected because she has a strain that is resistant to the oral one) and continuing her care for at least another full day. Hope she continues to improve!
Morning Matilda update: she is doing OK - pretty much the same (which is good). Poops continue to improve and her surgery sites continue to heal with no signs of infection.
They're going to slowly start reducing the powerful painkillers that she's on and switch her to less-intense versions as part of a plan to get her slowly off all the meds (and able to eat on her own again).
She continues to chew her IV lines, so she's still very, uh, "spirited."
I was shaking so much the 2nd time the vet hospital called that I could barely hold my phone... I'm still shaking uncontrollably... I was so scared for Matilda... good grief I hope she stays OK...
shitshitshit... got emergency call from vet hospital; Matilda is code yellow - not responsive, but has an irregular heartbeat and they are working on her... oh my baby girl please hold on...
