A member of staff has been awarded £8,000 in damages after being injured in an attack and while restraining a pupil at a school in Wales, has revealed.

Cardiff Council paid a further £19,500 on solicitors' fees related to the case.

The Princess Royal visited Power Roll in Seaham and Pragmatic in Durham in late March 2024.

An revealed that the visit cost police in the region £7,031.91, with six officers engaged in police preparation, and 15 involved on the day.

More than four in 10 council homes sold under the Right to Buy scheme are now owned by private landlords.

found 86% of homes sold under the scheme in Brighton are now being privately rented, 73% in Milton Keynes and 59% in Dover.

Five holiday home owners have been issued with warnings or "official advice" for digging into sea defences, shows.

There had been warnings not to dig into the shingle bank or place steps or decking on it due to fears this would weaken the defences.

shows 504,276 patients classed as Code 2, meaning they were deemed to be in need of “very urgent emergency care”, arrived at A&E not in an ambulance in 2023.

This was up 11,500 (2.4%) compared to 2022, and up 141,000 (38.9%) compared to 2019.

Fibre analysis can be used as evidence to indicate if a suspect was present at a crime scene.

shows police forces paid for less than 1,000 hours of fibre analysis per year between 2018 and 2020 – the equivalent of around 30 hours per force.

Police figures show that only two out of 19 reports of sexual assaults in pubs, bars and clubs in four major towns have resulted in arrests.

With 2,494 crimes, Heathrow saw the highest total number committed of any UK airport in 2022.

When adjusting for the number of passengers, Humberside Airport had the highest crime rate, with 9.7 crimes per 100,000 passengers, shows.
