"At 12:04am on Sunday morning, April 14 of 2024, a large response of CHP, Ventura County Fire Department and AMR paramedics were dispatched in response to a major crash occurring on the north bound 101 Freeway near the Camarillo Springs exit.
The CHP had initially listed the incident as possibly resulting from a wrong way driver. At least seven vehicles were involved. Multiple units made access to the incident from the north and south bound sides of the 101, with all north bound lanes being shut down. ..."

Two people were carried on backboards out to waiting ambulances and had appeared to sustain serious injuries. CHP was seen accompanying one of these patients in the back of the ambulance. Drivers were stopped in lanes for over an hour waiting for access through. Multiple tow trucks had arrived to clean up the vehicles and road hazards. The CHP website indicated that all north bound lanes had opened by shortly before 3:00am. CHP was working to confirm whether or not wrong way driving was responsible for the incident. No additional information was available at this time.
