People have been able to change their names for ages.
We call people by nicknames, whether they are shortened versions of their names or completely different words, all the time.
If you don't have a problem with those things, but suddenly have an issue when someone who is #trans asks to be addressed by a different name or #pronoun, then obviously the problem isn't that they changed their name.
