It’s a shame I never used my hatred for clothes shopping as a motivator for weight loss. I always assumed I don’t like clothes shopping because of my size. Who knows, it’s like a weird chicken-egg situation. Wish I was more accepting of my body without being obsessed. #BodyImage#rant
@farah Plus sized clothes for women are better than they used to be, but still gets it's own section which is weird, like I'm not a regular woman, I'm Woman+
When I worked retail my other coworkers and I couldn't believe how junky and unattractive the majority of the clothing was for the larger women's sizes.
And average women have issues too with the clothing. Sleeves and pants that are too short and some stores creating all of their clothing based upon the juniors department. They remove all choice. And they wonder why they lose out to online sales.
@RickiTarr@farah when I was about US size 14 a year before the covid, in my country, I wasn’t able to find any clothes of my size in most regular stores, it ended at US size 12 or even 10. There was one Turkish brand and a single local fashion brand catering up to US size 16. Basically, if you are size 14+, your only option was specialized stores(veeeeery few and usually unreasonably expensive), or buying from AliExpress or its resellers
@olena@RickiTarr That reminds me when I was growing up, back in my country (Bangladesh), it was cheaper to get ‘made to fit’ dress sets than buying readymade clothes. I think that spoiled me too
