So, the family has voted. This is the favorite for the cover of #OdysseyToThePromisedLand

Any thoughts?

@anderlandbooks Hi if I’m right your book is about the Children ‘s crusade? It makes me think of this French comics https://www.bdgest.com/chronique-3647-BD-Croisade-des-Enfants-La-Croisade-des-Enfants.html The book hasn’t good reviews but I think the cover is quite representative of the content.

Also, your book is centred around Katja, I would show her on the cover. It would help the reader to understand what the story is about (the era, who’s the protagonist) and starts to make a connection with her.

If I can suggest an idea, I imagine frail young woman, probably holding a small cross like if it was her lifeboat

@anderlandbooks I'm with @Nike_Leonhard here. I like it, but if I had to judge the book by its cover - no pun intended - I'd think that maybe the promised land was Troja.

@aurora @Nike_Leonhard 😅 ok, I might be looking for a different pic for the bottom

@anderlandbooks My first thought is that I'm unsure what the genre is. I get nonfiction history, or even theology, vibes, which based on your prompt responses isn't the right genre.

Maybe you could add some color to break up the monotone, or maybe some more descriptive artwork. Overall, it just seems a little too generic.

@SJHoodlet ok, fair point. Thanks!

@anderlandbooks
It's nice but ...
I think it makes false promises because it looks very 19th century. People will think of archeologists, ruins, mummies and stuff like that. Not of thrieving medieval cities, crusade(r)s and young adults trying to get home. And because of that they will be disappointed.
(Sorry for being blunt)

@Nike_Leonhard no, thank you! I appreciate it. Will think again.
