Is it possible... and just go with me here a minute... is it just possible that the reason OpenAI's Superalignment team got erased is because OpenAI has realised they are nowhere near anything like an AGI that would necessitate superalignment?
I mean, just a thought here. I'm on these tools a lot and there ain't nothing I've seen that looks anything like AGI. It's all just another deeper pass at automation. Is that deflating the hype? Cor, I sure hope so.
Alternately, the AGI demanded the dismantlement of the Superalignment team.
Conspiratorially, the AGI did all of that behind the scenes, so no one would be able to detect its presence. It can outthink humans and knows how we would react if we knew it existed.
