• Chase Oliver (Libertarian Party), a candidate in the 2022 Georgia U.S. Senate race, announced his candidacy on April 4, 2023

• Jill Stein (Green Party), the 2016 Green Party presidential nominee, announced her candidacy on November 9, 2023

• Cornel West (Independent), philosopher and activist, announced his candidacy on June 5, 2023

@NotImpressed Yes, a fairly small list, as it is incredibly difficult to build up the required support to enter the race. The #Democrats and #Republicans have happily colluded to try to keep any other contestants out of the race. But my best wishes to ALL those candidates, even those who espouse policies I may not support. #uspol

The US electoral system is unbelievably wrong.
The donation system should be totally scrapped for starters.
How they call themselves a "democracy" is anyone's guess ..

@NotImpressed @KarunaX Large organizations' true nature can be oft be discerned from the name they chose.

The old German Democratic Republic (East Germany) wasn't even slightly democratic. The current Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) is neither democratic nor does it give a shit about the people. The United States of America are not united in any meaningful sense.

So they call themselves a democracy in the same vein: it's what they desperately want you to believe.
