Somebody shared the source code for parts of #Balatro. It's a great game and the devs don't deserve to have it stolen so that's not cool.
On the other hand. Do you remember those memes about if/else blocks to assign a number to a string of that number? That's literally how their code works.
Just goes to show, you don't need to be an excellent programmer to program an excellent game.
@o76923 I am so tired of that discourse. Everyone on Twitter uses it to post some logical fallacy about why enums are the devil and actually anyone who likes type systems will never ship anything.
@o76923 That is not what i mean. I actually think that if statement is fine (although strings instead of enums is not great), but every post on twitter i have seen praises this as "good code style" and "the way software is written that is shipped". (I know tsoding is a terrible engagement bait poster, but he isn't the only one. Practically everyone over there makes statements like that)
