I've attempted to tackle this project a couple times, but this is the first time I'm somewhat satisfied with the result. I used the video linked below as tutorial. My first time #watercolor#painting without a line drawing as a guide. This will be part of a series; I wonder if anyone will recognize what I'm going for? It'll hopefully be obvious when I finish more in the series.
Here's the second image in the series. Here is where the target audience will either get what I'm doing, or will make it clear that I've failed. If I've succeeded, the target audience can now name both images.
Now that I know people recognize what I'm doing, I can finally let everyone else in on it: I'm illustrating #TheWheelOfTime novel titles to help me remember them & their order. So far they are:
Book 0: New Spring
1: The Eye of The World
2: The Great Hunt
3: The Dragon Reborn
Here's my take on #TheWheelOfTime book 4: The Shadow Rising. I definitely wanted to include the twisted redstone door frame and the glass columns. Initially I tried using a human silhouette as the shadow but it didn't look right. Then I got the idea of a black sun rising. I was also initially gonna have one of the glass columns be the "4" but I think it looks better with just four columns. What do you think? #WheelOfTime#watercolor#painting
Book 5 of #TheWheelOfTime is The Fires of Heaven. I tried to represent the major plot lines and events of the story, do you recognize the symbolism I used?
Book 6 of #TheWheelOfTime is Lord of Chaos. I struggled with this painting and feel this is my worst in the series so far, both in concept and execution. Hoping to do much better when I redo this project in the future. #WheelOfTime#watercolor#painting
