ollej, Swedish This is Frösöstenen, the northernmost runestone in Sweden (the world?). It mentions the christianization of Jämtland, the only such mention on a Swedish runestone. It’s also the first mention of the region Jämtland. The signum is J RS1928;66. It stands on the island Frösön, which also has an old medieval stone church where they have found the stump of a large tree and lots of animal bones beneath the floor, so it’s believed to be and old viking cultic place.

A slightly wider shot showing the entire stone standing in a grass field.
A photo of the runestone from further away to the left. A street lamp is placed just behind the stone, presumably to illuminate the stone at night. Unfortunately it is an eyesore. Two trees can be seen further behind the stone.
A wide shot of the stone from straight on. Behind the stone is the modern bridge from the island Frösön to the mainland and the city of Östersund.
