Just to note, little ol' non-neurotypical me has had Amazon Prime for years but has NEVER watched a show or movie on Amazon Prime Video (and never will, now they've added adverts)

EDIT: please note that I don't normally watch TV or movies at all — they're not recreation/relaxation for me.

@cstross your brain dislikes tv/movies too? I thought I was the only one!
If the story doesn’t instantly and completely grab my attention, if the visuals aren’t cinematographical perfection, I lose interest at once. I would rather think my own thoughts, thank you!

@donkeyherder I have the added happy fun things of (a) I hate being emotionally manipulated (eg. by predictable story beats or background music) and (b) my retinas are borked so much modern cinematography is too fast/jerky for me to register as anything except a muddy blur. Add (c) story lines on TV that take an entire season to develop and it amounts to a demand that I invest entire weeks of viewing to get the equivalent of a novel's worth of story that I can read in a few hours. No thanks.

Yes, this

@cstross We're still mostly benefitting from the free shipping, which is why I am subscribed to prime in the US and UK. I will admit the streaming is a nice part of the feature set.

Cadbury_Moose,

@cstross Ditto here. Prime is great for shopping but I've never tried the video service (though was tempted by the P.K.Dick film). Inserting adverts has killed any thought of even trying it.

@cstross as a SF writer you may like the Tales from the Loop. Their adaptation of The Expanse was very good too, if you’re into space stuff.

@Nicovel0 I disliked the first Expanse novel, didn't read the rest, and I don't watch TV drama /movies for entertainment.

@cstross To be honest, the content is average and obtainable through KODI anyway, free. The only benefit is the free 24 hour delivery service if you buy enough to justify it.

@Roadwarrior29 I'm there for the deliveries. (Works out much cheaper to me than paying for delivery.)
