I watch all kinds of international stuff including European detective shows, #Kdrama, #Jdorama and #Telenovelas, but I have never gotten into Chinese dramas. Every time I start one, I quit after an episode or two. Is there something really good out there I am missing? #cDrama
@cs If you like costume dramas with a supernatural element (xianxia genre), perhaps #LoveBetweenFairyAndDevil with Dylan Wang and Esther Yu might interest you?
@cs Did you figure it out? On the app, I think you turn on subtitles when you first download it. On the computer, I think you can change subtitles for each drama. But they are definitely there. My app automatically shows me English subtitles.
@cs No problem! Now that you know that iQiyi has subtitles in English, it is just a matter of finding them. Once you do, they automatically turn on. At least mine do. I never think about it ...
If you are interested in magic battles and historic costumes, and are willing to stick out 7 episodes to get full context, I'd recommend #cdrama#TheUntamed.
@cs you're welcome! I also enjoyed the #cdrama#WhoRulesTheWorld which is a period costume drama and discusses military battle strategies and complications as different factions try to take over each other's regions.
@cs@jillithd Hi if you like costume dramas and mysteries might be worth trying A League of Nobleman which has a young student and a noble official join up to solve mysterious killings. Some superb spooky visuals, court politics and opposites becoming reluctant allies
Period drama: nirvana in fire, joy of life
Modern: go ahead, reset, the day of becoming you
Dark/mysteries: the bad kids, the long season, under the skin
