@met oh, it surely will. Since the API block, I have been trying to access reddit via RSS using a combination of newsboat + links (so I can read stuff without leaving the terminal) which worked for a while, but later their site wouldn't load without javascript anymore. So I can read the post and linked article, but not the comments, which usually are the most important for Tech discussions and troubleshooting.
Ack, who knows. Maybe now it's the ripe time to ditch it instead of fighting it.
@met it does, but that option has to be compiled in. The stock version that comes with Debian, for example, doesn't have it. I guess I'd have to build it again from source.
Interestingly, the Debian repo has version 0.16, while the project's webpage has version 0.12 (dated 2012!!). I guess the maintainers did their own patching in the meantime?
@met hey, just an update: it looks like old.reddit works without Javascript under links2 quite well. Set it to reject cookies altogether and it should be a little more acceptable, I guess? It's been working for me to read it through my RSS feeds.
