@shanselman Disagree to some extent. It’s like having a test environment: no matter how close to identical it is to prod, the fact that it’s not the actual prod environment has unavoidable implications. The fact that your demo is happening in a specific place and at a specific time that it has never happpened in before and never will again has implications as well, and some of them are out of your control. “Demo gods” is just shorthand for those uncontrollable factors.
@shanselman I dunno. Not much could prepare our end of sprint demo for the SE network change that accidentally nuked the dns for an hour. Thankfully prod wasn't impacted, but our demo env was just gone
@sldrant ya prep is about degree. For keynotes I’ll have a prerecorded video as a backup backup. I’ll talk to the teams involved and have them avoid deployments for 24 hours. It’s how many 9’s of confidence is appropriate
