I'll happily lie around half the day when it's my choice, but now I'm on two days of bed rest so I want to go hiking or play kickball.
(Realistically: I'm recovering from 5 days of extreme foot #pain after a week of walking around in #Galapagos, on osteoporotic feet that were already trashed from #rheumatoid disease and a fracture. I can't realistically play kickball, and the bedrest is to recover from TEN steroid injections into my foot joints after destroying them further there.)
@cbdawson the food was pretty darned good! we saw nesting boobies and frigate birds! (flying/fishing, too.) Galapagos penguins, tortoises and sea turtles. Even watching my kid's reaction to the ubiquitous sea lions and crabs was awesome. Favorite is a tough word!
I have always and forever wanted to see boobies in real life and just standing in one spot with a pair of boobies loving on each other with an egg between them 2m in one direction and a family of frigate birds, Dad with his throat out and the ridiculously big fluffy white chick, in a bush 2 m the other direction, was sort of overwhelming.
And my kid fell in love with sea lions, just lying on benches as we'd go by right in town, nursing babies so close we could hear slurping. I'm 60 and with increasing disability I'll probably never go again, so it was kind of amazing. Worth the damage I did, worth the pain there, the shots today.
@Stressrelated It's 10:30 and I snoozed/read half the day away just coming down from the adrenaline. It was hard, a have had a lot of medical work and I have a ridiculously high pain tolerance. But I still say it was worthwhile.
