Starmer’s bank holiday for ‘Lionesses’ would’ve cost more than ending 2-child cap

‘Labour leader’ wants to keep more than a million children hungry, but wanted bank holiday for England women’s football team – which would have cost (lots) more

It is irrelevant...they didn't win!

Plenty to attack Labour on without bringing in the England's women football performance into this.

Attack the policy by all means...leave the Football out of it.

@jacqui76 It’s not about the football it’s about Starmer’s priorities isn’t it?

@therightarticle

His priorities are certainly open for debate leave the football reference out of it.

It's not fair on the team. They didn't ask to be brought into political debate.

He has stated he is a Unionist - won't work with the SNP. So what will be his attitude to Northern Ireland - when the time comes (it's coming) for the British Government to engage with constitutional question in NI?

@jacqui76 To be honest I’m tired of the debate about Starmer. I warned people about him before he was elected and feel completely vindicated by his actions since. He is a bland establishment suit with zero charisma. A coward a hypocrite and a fake who has destroyed the soul of the Labour Party. He is not to be relied on for any positive change.

I don't rate Starmer either but I live in NI - what I think doesn't matter. I can't vote for the party. I don't rate any English politician - they all have their flaws.

What I will say is we in #NI get the #lightweight, #hasbeen or a #nobody as SoS. We aren't on anyone's priority list.

So it doesn't bother me if he is bland or has zero charisma - that is the type of politician that we get sent from Westminster*

@jacqui76 I agree. True of Scotland and Wales too. . It will never be resolved in my view until Ireland unites and takes full responsibility for its own future.

jacqui76,

@therightarticle

Yes very true about Scotland and Wales - however at least all three parties stand in Sco & Wal. Only the #Tories stand in NI - and that is normally humiliating for the poor sod that stands for them!

I think many people in #NI would like the opportunity to take responsibility for our own future - away from the influence of Westminster.

We all don't agree with #DUP humiliating themselves by begging for some crumbs of the master's table.
