Apple TV's production of Foundation takes major liberties with Asimov's original story.

Having said that, I personally feel that the title sequence does successfully capture the feel of the original trilogy.

@nyrath I think the thing Foundation got right was looking at what sort of story Isaac Asimov wanted to tell, what was the overarching theme, and ignoring the trappings of manly men with Freudian cigars.

Some might balk on how Gaal Dornick and Salvor Hardin were changed, but I enjoy Lou Llobell and Leah Harvey too much to worry.

And Lee Pace is simply amazing to watch.

@nyrath Agree. The only, and maybe still purposefully chosen, feat in the sequence that I feel a bit uneasy, is the use of 3D-web like graphics. Now that you mention the original feel, I can imagine that having been in the focus. In general, S2 seems to be developing well as a whole.

@nyrath It's pretty, but I'd have absolutely no idea what the show was about from watching it.

@nyrath
I enjoyed Season 1 and had no problems w changes to the characters, plot, or background. IMO, it reflected a more modern look at the story.

However,
Season 2 has disappointed me on several fronts. Gaal and Salvor lack chemistry. S2E2, a Star Wars prequel with the mining robots chase. Hari regaining flesh & blood like magic. Explain please. S2E3, a STTNG episode with the General and his aide on a mission.

I hope it improves. I want to like it.
