https://youtu.be/3EBYHu8H82o ← In retrospect, this is a really obvious way to make good "explaining some code stuff" videos: just set cool-retro-term to 80% opacity, and shove a low-res camera feed of your face behind it. You don't even need to faff with the VT100 bezel for this to come out well!
Bonus if you get the flipping/etc right so that you can raise a finger to point to lines of code, or what-you-will.

@nemothorx So true story: I first discovered #Enlightenment around 1997, and I remember going on IRC and downloading it to compile on my DEC Multia. The FTP site was like ftp.slashdot.org, and someone in the IRC channel kept saying "Ugh, #SlashDot sucks." I was baffled, because it seemed a perfectly fine FTP host to me!
@spacehobo enlightenment is one of those projects I’ve been watching with vague interest from the outside for many years, I think only actually used very sparingly once or twice over the decades. Must be time to see what it’s up to again! Thanks for the reminder! 😄
@nemothorx Was playing with NixOS and... shrug. But one thing it does is make bringing up a "modern" Enlightenment desktop stupid easy. I tinkered and reminisced and nostalgia'd all over myself. Then I killed the VM. But it was kinda cool to see.
