"Joker: Folie à Deux" will be a jukebox musical, insiders have told Variety magazine. Joaquin Phoenix returns in the title role while Lady Gaga will play Harley Quinn in the Todd Phillips-directed movie, which is set to premiere this year, possibly at the Venice International Film Festival. A slight majority of followers here say that musicals aren't their bag, with @seanbala clarifying that he's anti-jukebox musicals (except "Moulin Rouge"). @zachvat says he'll probably skip this one because it feels like a desperate attempt to milk the superhero/villain genre, while @dfrancis says he passed on the first one for exactly the same reason.
@CultureDesk Love Musicals but not a fan of jukebox ones. The only one I really like is "Moulin Rouge" because it is so much its own thing. Give me some original content!
@seanbala This whole idea seems a little out-there — it will be interesting to see what a "Joker" musical looks like (and sounds like) though with Gaga on board it could be great!
