"You know damn well that plants don't experience anything, pretending to be dumb isn't a gotcha."
Then, instead of debating whether plants CAN feel pain you instead kept screeching veganism is the answer. You were provided sources to back the claim that plants feel pain, but instead ignored what was written and went back to screeching.
I'm not gonna continue engaging with you when you refuse to look at the arguments I make, just as this meme says, it really doesn't matter if plants feel pain(they still don't), less plants are used with a plant based diet, so if you believe it you should go vegan.
That's the argument I kept making to you and you just kept repeating "but plants feel pain tho"
"Don't eat animals because they feel pain"
"Plants feel pain"
"Even if they do, we should still eat plants because we would eat less of them"
I'm not tryin to change your mind about being vegan. Just trying to get you to understand, Plants Feel Pain. We have studies and research that proves that plants feel emotions, react to individuals, communicate.
Step down off your soap box and acknowledge science.
"Even if they do, we should still eat plants because we would eat less of them"
yes because the alternative of eating animals would kill both more plants and animals...?
Plants do not fucking feel pain and you know that, please stop pretending.
You don't go out of your way to not step on grass, you wouldn't save a plant instead of a dog from a burning house, you don't actually believe this, please stop, it's such a dumb argument.
Plants are biological machines without the mechanisms that give humans and other animals feelings, thought, experience and pain. There is no one there to experience the pain.
I can search for "do plants feel pain" and cherry pick results too;
Yet again, you throw bad faith after bad faith. Did you even read your cherry picked results?

"However, none of these provide evidence that plants have conscious mental states. Therefore, we conclude that there is no evidence that plants have minds in the sense relevant for morality."
Great, you found an paper looking to prove plants have no morals.

"Given that plants do not have pain receptors, nerves, or a brain, they do not feel pain as we members of the animal kingdom understand it."
Article literally opens with the equivalent of "We don't know what we don't understand".
Again, we don't know what we don't understand. Every article states the same thing. They give conjecture about OTHER things, consciousness, neurons, hormone responses, etc. Each one leans into the premise that plants posses intelligence and all completely fall flat of stating definitively that plants cannot feel pain.
Plants feel pain and are on par with every other creature on this planet.
"If no animals were harmed in the process I wouldn't mind but it's not something I really want all that much, I'm good with plant based stuff."
"Wait just a hot second there. Plants are living, breathing, creatures as well. The largest organism on the planet is the aspen tree."
These are the 2 comments that kicked all this off. I told a vegan that plants are living, breathing, creatures. At no time did I tell them THEIR lifestyle decision was incorrect or should change their eating habits. Only acknowledge that their basis for said eating habit is based on a fallacy. It's kind of like getting the right answer using the wrong formula. In the end, you still got the answer correct and full credit. That doesn't matter because if plants can feel pain, then apparently that would make them wrong?
Oh... Are you tied up around some kind of "do not harm" type thing, where if you acknowledge plants are alive and feel pain that would be a conflict?
I'm not going to make snarky comics and attempt to demean you. Hell, I even stood up for you in the other thread when an observer called you a "weirdo". You stated in the other thread: "Usually a discussion works by addressing the arguments the other person made." You can't have it both ways. You can't be the aggressor and the victim.
The whole time I've said that even if you believe plants feel pain then veganism is the answer because less plants harmed. You are the one who can't make any other argument than "plants feel pain" when that doesn't even contribute to the conversation in any way.
Why do you refuse to acknowledge this simple point?
You stated in the other thread: "Usually a discussion works by addressing the arguments the other person made." You can't have it both ways. You can't be the aggressor and the victim.
I stated that and I stand by it, you are continually refusing to actually engage in the arguments made.
