While learning #GoLang I was wondering why #Python has become so popular. Go seems just so much better in every aspect.
Maybe it's because people prefer the easiest way of #programming, using dynamic types? OK then, but still - why Python and not #LuaLang, for instance? Lua is nice, lightweight and fast.

@amarok many reason, but the syntax feeling like executable pseudo code (at least used to be the case, the language has grown a lot more complex since), was certainly one, as well as how much stuff came in the stdlib ("batteries included"when the internet was m wasn't as cheap and ubiquitous), also helped, and yeah, luck probably, but being oler than java, and without a bit company behind it, it took its sweet time to get to the top (of popularity).
