@msquebanh this is amazing! It'll take me some time to delve into the history of it, but I can so see myself making this for myself and loved ones (with some effort, sure)
@nrmacdonald I like to cook & eat my Dad's fave foods at least once a week. It makes me feel better. It helps me remember good times & good meals with my late Father. I feel he'd be happy about that ❤️

@nrmacdonald We fled just before 1978. Refugee camps were our temp homes til end of 1979. I have memories of refugee camp in Indonesia. We caught & ate water rats there.

@nrmacdonald I know & they don't understand well. Most folks here have never experienced the hellish life of #refugees who never wanted to flee from their homes & be separated from loved ones. Most folks here don't know what it was like for my Mom to give birth, feeling terrified & scared she'd die with me in hospital. Most folks here are fucking lucky they never had those seriously traumatic war experiences. Most folks here should learn a lot more about war refugees before judging them
@nrmacdonald Well - they need to deal with their own self imposed cognitive dissonance because it is very privileged to feel comfortable when there's so many others who do not have that privilege choice. Evil is supposed to disturb one enough to shake our senses. Evil is supposed to feel uncomfortable as fuck. Choosing comfort when you know people are being genocided is enabling more evils.
I don't hold any respect for folks who don't speak out when thousands are being murdered.
