The Union Square branch closure is one of several service changes Green Line riders will face this summer. The shutdown is due to repairs on the Squires Bridge, which passes over the line.
I find it odd that these brand new new lines still get bustituted so much. I know that the MBTA probably has no say in MassDOT's maintenance schedule, but there should have been better communication here. This feels like a perfect encapsulation of Massachusetts' dysfunction.
