Just spent at least two hours deleting all of my work from Tumblr, before their AI scraping shit hits the fan, although it's probably too late. In that case, the deletion functions as a gesture of protest.
This shameless large-scale intellectual property theft by greedy tech business assholes everywhere is starting to make the internet pretty annoying. 😖
@ZikZak Tumblr is a free platform, but by posting your work you provide content to Tumblr. That's an OK "barter deal" as far as I'm concerned, but not additionally selling my work to OpenAI and Midjourney for use in AI, which will enable anyone to generate images in my style and put me out of work as well.

On the other hand there is nothing that would prevent a software to visit a webpage and collect the data for any purpose.
So tumblr or a self-hosted webpage would face the same issue, although with tumblr's contract that would be even slightly worse if it allows it by default and they make money out of your data.
@ZikZak Yes, there's no escaping the AI black hole once you've published anything on the internet. But it still feels good to make this kind of gesture as a form of protest, even if it's superfluous.
