Still on my Ys Memories of Celceta trip so when I was shopping for harder to find, but cheap Visual Novels and RPGs, I had to add this one to the list.
€33 brand new, so I'll call that a steal. 🥰

For me it was the perfect game for short bursts because of its level selection structure and just the relaxing island town vibes.

This is actually one of the Trails games that I know nothing about.
I was originally gonna pick up Zero first as I’ve heard great things from the Crossbell series, but that one was nearly double the price of Nayuta, so I knew I had to grab this one asap as it’s quite rare to see it discounted.

I’m having trouble even finishing a game these days. 😅
And I have so many games on my backlog as well!
But if it’s not incredibly long, I’ll certainly do my best.
Or I might to a playthrough now and a second one in a couple of years 😊

Without even knowing anything about the game, you're able to tell.
I'm planning on going on a NIS/JRPG buying spree this summer when I have my big 3 week vacation, so I'm going to stop buying games for a bit and post one at a time of the ones that I just got and are still under way.
Is Nayuta a good jumping in point for the Trails series? I'm guessing not really. I should probably get Zero first perhaps?
@OutofPrintArchive I think the first jumping point is Trails in the Sky. Then Zero and Azure. Nayuta is a standalone! And yeah, Falcom's character designs are instantly recognizable!

I’d love to start Trails in the Sky, but I really should get glasses first as my eyesight has deteriorated severely the past 5 years or so.
@OutofPrintArchive I can't play Trails in the Sky because it makes me nauseous:( Something was very wrong when I played it, maybe because of camera movement and colors. Everyone loves the game though so when you get your glasses just jump in :D

Oh that really sucks.
Might have to do with the frame rate perhaps?
Even though it’s an RPG, I have noticed that inconsistent or low frame rates can make me feel very sick.
Not all the time luckily, but on certain days, I just can’t deal with it.
I wonder if emulating the game and perhaps over locking it, if that’s even possible, might solve things?

I second that. I think those games should already be available everywhere. Maybe Falcom is working on something :)

I did hear about them working on a highly requested port or remake, so I’m crossing my fingers here.
Their games really should be on everything.
It’s actually one of the companies that I’ve been wanting to start releasing their games on Xbox as well. But it looks like MS would rather moneyhat the bigger fish instead of tiny studios like Falcom.
@OutofPrintArchive@helligbird Nayuta is a standalone game and not related to the other Trails games, it plays nothing like them either, gameplay is more like Ys but kinda platform-y
There might be a vague story connection but nothing has been confirmed and it's just speculation I think (one of the characters in Nayuta might be the grandfather of a character from Cold Steel as they share a surname)

I will try to just stick with Celceta right now, otherwise I’ll get sidetracked again and end up never finishing any game. Although I do hear Ys 8 call for me. But luckily I don’t have a PS5 yet. 😅
