Here is my favorite find from Tucson collected just off the Catalina Highway below the eastern front of the Santa Catalina Mt.s, a metamorphic core complex. Sparklies are large clusters of biotite. Also contains feldspar and quartz. Anyone familiar with these rocks? Pardon my poor photography. #geology
