This thread has got me all nostalgic.

In '72, Dad bought our first colour TV, a $300 steel-cased Electrohome that probably weighed the better part of 100lbs, so he could watch the playoffs in colour for the first time.

We'd cheer whenever Bobby Orr or Phil Esposito got anywhere close to the net. Pretty heady stuff for a kid.

I was in grade 1 in '72.

I'm not sure how I knew, but any mention of a goal in '72, and that's the image that comes to mind.
