When i was younger (sure i’d be dead by 40 younger) i had thoughts about dying saving a bus full of kids. I recall my male friends growing up had similar delusions of grandeur. Is this actually a male thing only? Can’t be, right? Ladies? Anyone? Who did you imagine jumpin in front of a bullet for?
Retail chains like TJX, the parent company of TJ Maxx and Marshalls, are equipping some store employees with body cameras to deter shoplifting and improve safety. This is part of a growing trend in the retail industry, as stores respond to an increase in organized retail theft and violence against workers. However, some...
They think price gouging is going to increase theft and they wanna be ready. They’d rather waste money on this (and on advocating the govt for harsher penalties) than lower them.
Friendly reminder: if you see someone stealing from target? No you didn’t. That goes for target employees too. Here’s hoping your bodycams up with as much “lost” footage as the cop’s.
Its a joke sure but like the only reason getting thrown around on a roller coaster is fun is your body telling you youre in danger while yer mind knows you’re safe.
Skydiving was fun too, but i wouldn’t have enjoyed a second of it without that chute on my back.
If someone invents a tornado-safe flight suit tho there’ll be adrenaline junkies camping out in tornado alley
Microsoft is talking control over its ecosystem. Will it police your os for piracy? Look at what you do so it can sell you products? The use case is infinite once they have the data
This dude is the one who vetoed the bill to pay striking workers and a slew of other popular liberal bills. I hate him, so he probably will be the dem candidate in '28. Can’t wait to argue with people telling me we can “drag him left”
I read the article but could not find within what “1 million pounds of aid” entailed. What does that mean? What percentage of weight was food and medical supplies? Temporary housing? I can’t help but wonder why that information was not included. Does anyone know more?
Your’e asking the wrong fella, fella. But yaknow i was questioning the report, not the quality of your post, OP. I liked it and wanted to know more information. Discussing the material of your post is part of a discussion forum, right? Your own lack of curiosity isn’t really the point once you post it. Or do you have a completely different idear of what this place is supposed to be?
No, it’s not. because it’s the worst kinda lame having to talk to someone so effin’ passive aggressive. I do enjoy throwing that shit back in people’s faces sometimes. But now I’m going to relax, smoke a cigarette, literally touch some grass. Take it easy.
You know what? That cigarette was great. I reread your first reply 11 more times and with nicotine’s awful clarity i realized i read your comment in a mocking defensive tone, when you didn’t actually mean it that way.
I came here hoping to read more about this worm and its slime guns but no one did much yet so i had to look it up and now I’ve become the commenter i hoped to find? I hope the mildly interested people following after me find this cool:
The slime is incredible stuff. It leaves the worm’s nozzles as twin streams of sticky liquid. But once it touches the target, it hardens almost immediately into a stiff, hard gel that is neither sticky nor soluble in water. It’s an incredible transformation and for the prey, it’s a fatal one. By ‘milking’ an Australian velvet worm called Euperipatoides rowelli and studying its slime, Haritos has discovered that its properties come from a special type of chaotic protein.
Aargh ive had carpal tunnel to the point i had a brace on my WoW arm (though probably not as severe as yours). I have ADD too and scratch my scalp to where it bleeds when I’m nervous. Oops now im making it bout me lol. I actually just wanted to thank you taking the time to write up this detailed comment. So thanks!
A California city has agreed to pay $900,000 to a man who was subjected to a 17-hour police interrogation in which officers pressured him to falsely confess to murdering his father, who was alive....
I always assumed a court order payment wouldn’t be taxed
Unfortunately that is not true. The only tax-free court imposed restitution is that of physical pain and suffering not mental anguish. There may be other small caveats like hospitalization for mental but yeah, if you get a settlement expect the govt to come looking for its cut after the lawyer takes theirs.
Guys is this real?

Too hot for learning: American schools that never needed AC are now overheating. Fixes will cost billions. (wapo.st)
As heat waves creep north, they are baking schools that previously did not need air conditioning. Fixing the problem will be neither cheap, nor easy.
