In what order do you open the record, find it on discogs, explore the package, and listen?

i used to try to find it on discogs before opening, but then it just felt like a spoiler if i’d get something cool or not. now i am trying to open, appreciate everything, add to database, then listen, reading reviews as a last step because i don’t want anyone else’s opinion of a pressing influencing my feelings of it

for me, I like to add it to my Discogs as I'm opening and looking at some of the packaging and inserts while I'm pulling out the record. I put on side A as I finish looking through the packaging and listen to it all the way through.

Don't really use Discogs for the reviews side of things, I pretty much only buy records that I already like or am pretty sure I would

+1 for mini motorways. it’s such a good casual game you can pick up and pause whenever and a big improvement over mini metro in terms of options and strategy. I’ve been looking for a certain type of city builder game that scratched an itch I couldn’t quite place and this is doing it for me lately.

Apple watch with iPad?

Is it possible to have an Apple watch with a phone number and pair that with an iPad Mini and not have an iPhone involved at all? My daughter is getting old enough to need a phone but she is ADHD as all get out and will most likely put it down and lose it. So I like the idea of a watch that is strapped to her and then an iPad...

@conciselyverbose @AnotherPerson I wish this was something they changed with the iPad getting the Health app in iPadOS 17. That’s the only hold up besides being annoying by forcing one to own an iPhone that I could have thought of

@brianrlawson well them including reproductive rights definitely didn’t help our standing.

everyone my age that I know has either left already or is working towards leaving the state in the next 5 years and I don’t know if it’s going to get better by then to entice the ones still here now to stay.

Posting to lemmy through mastodon is a thing (hello there!), but yeah, I don’t think you can follow a mastodon account through lemmy unfortunately.

EDIT: I lied! Found the server admin I think at this link: https://lemmy.ml/u/beheerder@social.overheid.nl but I think they need to specifically post to a lemmy server in order to have posts show.

I'm primarily operating over on Mastodon, but I was a huge lurker of r/Indiana and r/Indianapolis on reddit, mostly for local news and city updates, and it's so refreshing to find this.

I'm located in the Indy area and I'm into making music, audio engineering, and a bit of photography. Huge runner, ran the Indy Mini for the first time this year and I'm already signed up for next year. Originally from NWI so a huge fan of the dunes and the outdoors as a whole.
