Going to guess “gutegow” == “good to go”. Kinda a little uncreative of the language creators for this series IMO. Show’s fun to watch but they might as well not have tried to invent a new dialect for it. Doesanut really add anyting, knowwotmean? 🤷🏻‍♂️

A sample of full Belter Creole, rather than a word or partial sentence code-switch:

Mi tili xunyam . Sherú mi tenye faf anyiye. Da lang im na bera asilik Lang *Íngelish. Im bingi! Unte mi du wedzha to na pochuye kowl deting mi ando showxa.

Translation:

I regularly study Belter Language. My start was five years ago. [Lit. My start has five years] The language, it's not only like English. It's fun! And I bet you don't understand all that I'm saying.

Our learning community is fairly active. We have practice chats once a week on Discord, and we dissect the new vocab that has popped up in the more recent media. I've become less active on Reddit and I've pretty much have abandoned Twitter, but we have had our groups there. There's also one on Facebook.

I have my BA in Linguistics and it has been so interesting to dive into this conlang. There is something so very satisfying about it for me. I even journal in it! 😎

From the show, from Nick Farmer's tweets, and some information we collected from Farmer's Patreon when he was actively answering questions, as well as stray interviews and we've gotten some new vocab from the Dragon Tooth comic and Kickstarter.

[Addition: and the Kuxaku To song by Xetamangz had official consultation from Farmer. Source of vocab like du kuxaku 'to space (someone)']

How do you #Mastodon?

Since the official Android app is lacking so many features, I used #Tusky for quite some time. Recently I switched to #Megalodon because it feels smoother (I miss the clear notifications option though).

The web client was fine so far, but now I am playing around with #Elk, wich looks very promising. It handles threads much better. But it does look like Twitter.

What are you using?

(And are you also struggling with hashtags being autoformated?)
