Beautiful Fair Isle. This picture was taken from the island's highest point, overlooking the island to the south. The big blocks are the remnants of some military structure (I think) and in the distance to the left you can see the white church of which I posted a photo earlier. Fascinating place.

No matter how you feel, the sight of a flight of starlings doing loops and swoops in the sky is always mesmerising. The changes of shape and density in the flock are just amazing. I love watching them

Radio Kootwijk, built in 1918 to maintain direct radio contact with the former Dutch colony of Indonesia (then called the Dutch East Indies). Unsurprisingly it's no longer in use, you can rent the location for events. The building is a real landmark, standing by itself on a sandy plain.
