Israeli foreign influence campaign must be investigated: CJPME
"Montreal, June 5, 2024 — Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) is calling on Parliament to investigate Israeli foreign influence in Canada, following the alarming discovery that Israel has been covertly targeting Canadians with racist anti-Muslim messages. "
@leftylabourtech Of course you are right about all of that. I just don't see the article you complain about as really denying it. It is about a different hatred, the one that targets Jews. We need to push back against both kinds of hatred, not just one.
@Paul_Friesen Nothing that this Karen complained about in the National Post article "targets" Jews for hatred.
It simply offers a different perspective, i.e. a Palestinian perspective on that part of the world.
An Indigenous perspective on the history of Canada, the US, Australia or New Zealand would also offer a different perspective i.e. a perspective of dipossession.
Not that I've been a supporter of the CASA (I haven't), but it's long been a Conservative Party talking point that the CASA is supposedly about NDP leader Singh securing his parliamentary pension (when in fact it's mostly Conservative MP's who would secure their pensions).
The Conservative social media troll brigade is going to have to come up with a new talking point.
@pkw Back in the 1960's there was a dream of a worker/student alliance. With the UAW at UCLA and with the Ontario Federation of Labour at the University of Toronto, we have one.
"White nationalists and neo-Nazis joined forces with Zionists (including some saying they were Israelis) to attack UCLA’s Palestine Solidarity Encampment, whose residents included a large number of Jewish students. The assailants were not affiliated with the university. One neo-Nazi was heard shouting, “we’re here to finish what Hitler started,” without any apparent protest from the self-identified Zionists. At least one person present has been identified as an associate of the Proud Boys."
Students are making history. All of us should join them

Statement from Ontario Federation of Labour President Laura Walton on the one month anniversary of the start of the university protests in solidarity with Palestine.
CBC has whitewashed Israel’s crimes in Gaza. I saw it firsthand.
Working for five years as a producer at the public broadcaster, I witnessed the double standards and discrimination in its coverage of Palestine—and experienced directly how CBC disciplines those who speak out
