Requiescat in pace, Kaija Saariaho, 1952-2023. An incredible composer, who rejected the rigidity of post-serialism and brought to contemporary music new colours, electronics, and always a thread of musicality and purpose.

Ah, my god, this cello, this cellist. <3

Camille Thomas is the latest cellist to be playing the Feuermann Stradivarius, a 1730 instrument with an incredible history—having been in the hands of cellists such as Franchomme, de Munck, Feuermann, Isserlis, Ishizaka, and now Thomas.

This is a wonderful performance of the Largo from Chopin's Sonata, Op. 65, arranged for cello and piano, in Hong Kong.
