I wrote a short post about how to use Shortcuts to automatically import highlights from Readwise into @drafts once a day. 📚

https://flohgro.com/automation/automating-readwise-highlights-import-into-drafts/

Basically, you can use this to run any Drafts action daily — so even if you don't use Readwise, you might have a use case for it! 💡

@AnthonyBaker @drafts
Sure here is an example, on the left the raw draft, on the right you can see the preview version which includes the title images.

Correct, every highlighted article / book / whatever will be one draft

@RDK it’s powered by Wordpress using the Pixl Theme.
I would love to have a static site generator based on markdown files but this is kind of my 80% solution. I would have to jump deep into the rabbit hole to create a static website..

@AnthonyBaker absolutely yes! Great idea :) for me Drafts is the app where I want to have them but of course you could send them to other apps, too.

I created some shortcuts in the past to e.g. fetch the highlights and create a note in Craft but again I had to trigger that manually everytime. + formatting is much easier with a script in draft than a shortcut 😂

@flohgro@social.lol avatar

@AnthonyBaker I use Drafts as my main notes app. I switched from Craft to Obsidian. But was never happy with the native experience of the app and while it’s great having so many features and plugins I realized I don’t really need all that stuff for me. So I decided to just use the app that I used continuously for years and that adapts to my needs.
I think I’m using it as main notes app for more than a year now and it’s working perfectly fine for me 🙌🏽

A quick and handy @drafts action to open drafts from a tag scope (e.g. scope::1) or nested tags (e.g. tag/1) from prompts

Used the Red Flag phase in todays F1 GP to write that small action :)

I’ve defended Goolge search for years, but their AI answers suck so hard https://birchtree.me/blog/ive-defended-goolge-search-for-years-but-their-ai-answers-suck-so-hard/

flohgro,
@flohgro@social.lol avatar

@matt I recently read that you could add a "&udm=14" to the end of your search query so e.g.
https://google.com/search?q=apple+stock&udm=14

instead of https://google.com/search?q=apple+stock

Will make a significant difference :)

Ok, what about some @chronicling automation nerdery? 🤓
I built a shortcut that checks categories containing "automate" in their description. It calculates the mean time between two events in days and creates a reminder in @due if the last logged event was at least the same amount of days ago.

TIL: you can copy internal links from Apple Notes to and they keep working (even cross platform)

A screenrecording demonstrating to copy a link from apple notes to another note in apple notes to todoist will open the note from todoist

over the weekend I changed the prompt that #ReadwiseReader uses to create the summaries of documents via the Ghostreader. I'm quite happy with it since I already started to read them more before looking into the actual document.

I advise ChatGPT to summarize it prefixed with emojis:

🔑: key points of the document
💡: ideas that could enlighten me
🤯: mindblowing things
❔: important question the document asks the reader

Did you change the prompt for the ghostreader, too? If yes - what's yours?

flohgro,
@flohgro@social.lol avatar

@Kieranmansfield interesting - so you can copy reading suggestions from articles right from the summary?

flohgro,
@flohgro@social.lol avatar

@Kieranmansfield thx - I definitely changed the prompt too late :)

Even the daily summaries get much more useful with them :)

flohgro,

@Kieranmansfield how do you use that one? I didn’t have the courage to turn it on 😂

I made a small update to the AI Tools action group for @drafts.
you can now specify a GPT model that should be used.
Have a look at the forums post to check out what you need to do to use it: https://forums.getdrafts.com/t/chat-gpt-3-integration/14995/7?u=flohgro

Published another small @drafts action to quickly open flagged drafts.

https://directory.getdrafts.com/a/2ST

flohgro,
@flohgro@social.lol avatar

@RDK are you talking about a real workspace or just the „flagged“ folder in the drafts list?

Because if you define a workspace there could still be several flagged drafts in it.

flohgro,
@flohgro@social.lol avatar

@RDK definitely possible. You would still have the prompt to select from the list if more than one draft is flagged and has that tag.
If that’s fine I can draft an action
