die444die,

Yeah it’s really tough seeing so much support for hatred. I grew up in south MS but moved to LA a long time ago because it seemed a little more open minded. I can’t say it’s worse than MS, but it sure seems to have regressed a lot. If I could afford to move somewhere better I would, but since I can’t I just gotta keep fighting for good I suppose.

die444die,

The infrastructure is much better in the US than you’re suggesting. I’ve taken numerous long road trips in my EV (and it’s not a Tesla, so not using the supercharger network) and I’ve never once been stranded or even had to wait longer than a 10-15 minutes before I’m able to plug in and charge on the rare time the chargers are busy, and I’m talking 2000+ mile trips. Could it be better? Absolutely. But it’s nowhere near as bad as you are trying to make it.

die444die,

Well considering you were responding to someone who was specifically speaking about the US and you didn’t specify that, yeah I think that is a reasonable assumption.

die444die,

What’s it called when people do this?

Trying to shut down reasonable voices by attacking and then saying that type of comment is going to affect how they vote ?

This feels fake as hell and I see it constantly now.

Am I the only one who thinks statements like this are just attempts at keeping reasonable people from speaking up?

die444die,

sadly, real Americans saw it enough that they began to think it was a common stance… so then Americans actually started adopting that stance.

I prefer to think people aren’t this dumb and it’s all still trolls. That’s my hope at least.

die444die,

Yeah I just block jerks like this guy. Makes lemmy a whole lot more pleasant.

die444die,

There are not many people I’d applaud the death of, but these pieces of garbage are among them.

Just some of the worst humanity has to offer.

Ron DeSantis' new target in his 'war on woke'? Colors, apparently (www.msnbc.com)

As part of DeSantis’ “Freedom Summer” initiative, the state’s transportation secretary, Jared W. Perdue, announced earlier this month that bridges in the state will have no choice but to be illuminated in red, white and blue from Memorial Day through Labor Day....

die444die,

The same confirmed child molester, Ron Desantis, governor of Florida?! Who would have thought?

die444die, (edited )

Is Riolu not a sesame?

Edit: here’s mine, Nibbler (black and tan) and Yoshi https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/00c30ac9-9bcd-4575-8eee-963a024cded3.jpeg

die444die,

Ah okay I couldn’t see her back so it just looked sesame. They’re cute as heck.

die444die,

What the fuck does a story you made up about people off of a path in Toronto have to do with park rangers in the US? Maybe stop being such a bigot.

die444die,

A connection to random people? Are you actually claiming that US park rangers are traveling to Toronto parks to touch your chest? WTF is wrong with you?

die444die,

This isn’t just about withholding Medicaid. They are also banning healthcare in half of the states for transgender minors, at one of the most critical times in their lives, even though they know this has a high potential of leading to more suicides amongst trans youth. Yes. It’s genocide.

die444die,

He probably hired the “protesters” himself for attention.

die444die,

So I don’t have any curiosity about experiencing any of these things in person but I do definitely enjoy the adrenaline rush of being scared. I try to watch scary movies hoping it will bring back that fear I’d get as a kid where it felt like it took me 30 minutes to get down the dark hallway to my room because I was scared after staying up to watch scary movies.

So I definitely chase that scared feeling, but not with real life events. This could be because I have witnessed a few horrifying things in real life and I know it’s not the same feeling - you get an adrenaline rush yes, but you’re left with a despair afterward, unlike watching a scary movie or something on tv.

Still, some of the way you described this resonated with me in some way.

die444die,

Yeah that guy is just dumb. I checked his post history and decided to just go ahead and block him.

die444die,

This is the actual list:

Neglecting Personal Development

According to Buffett, the best investment one can make is in oneself. Enhancing skills and education can boost earning potential significantly. Knowledge and abilities are assets that no one can take away from you.

Relying On Credit Cards

Credit cards can be convenient, but high interest rates can quickly overshadow any benefits if you don’t pay the full balance monthly. Buffett advises against needless spending that could lead to credit card debt.

Frequenting Bars and Pubs

Spending on social activities like drinking at bars can add up. Opting for more affordable social gatherings, like home get-togethers, can help save significantly.

Chasing the Latest Technology

New gadgets may be tempting, but often, last year’s model serves just as well. Buffett himself has a history of sticking to functional rather than flashy tech. It’s important to assess if the latest upgrades genuinely provide added value for the price.

Overspending on Clothes

Buffett, along with other billionaires, leans towards simplicity in his wardrobe. Choosing classic, durable clothes over flashy, expensive brands can result in significant savings.

Buying New Cars

Cars are notorious for their rapid depreciation. Buffett recommends buying pre-owned cars and holding onto them for as long as they’re reliable, instead of falling for the allure of the new models.

Unused Gym Memberships

Buffett promotes an active lifestyle but cautions against unused gym memberships. Free or low-cost fitness routines can be just as effective if regularly practiced.

Unnecessary Subscription Services

Subscription services, if not carefully monitored, can become a financial drain. Review these regularly and cancel those that don’t provide value.

Over-Reliance on Skincare Products

Buffett advises against overusing or needlessly combining skincare products. Finding a simple and effective routine can save both money and your skin.

Regular Nights Out

While socializing is essential, frequent nights out can be a significant expense. Opting for budget-friendly alternatives like home-cooked meals and movie nights can cut costs considerably.

Gambling

While gambling might seem like a shortcut to wealth, Buffett emphasizes the importance of understanding the odds. He urges people to make financial decisions that favor their long-term wealth accumulation, not momentary thrills.

Smoking

Smoking, beyond its health implications, is a costly habit. Quitting can lead to a significant boost in your personal budget.

die444die,

Is your personality really just “asshole”?

die444die,

Wait is this an AI hallucination or is there really a pop tart movie?

die444die,

Oh god. I see. He is making a bold and idiotic statement to get people talking since he has a new movie coming out.

At least he’s not playing a talking pop tart which is what I envisioned.

Still, here we are, talking about him. Ugh.

die444die,

I have this and it is exactly how mine looks too. It also clears up generally within a couple of days after I shave. I also get it on my scalp and on my sternum, which I think is common with it.

die444die,

Me too, but it hides under my beard so it’s not really visible anyway. It does occasionally itch, but not too bad. I like my beard more than I hate the dermatitis.

die444die,

Why tf are they referring to that hack karoline leavett as national press secretary?

die444die,

Even if he does spend 2 weeks with them, he frequently talks about stuff he is out of his depth on.

Just because he had access to interesting cars doesn’t make him a good car reviewer. If I want to see what the inside of a Lamborghini Miura looks like, sure he’s probably got a video of it.

If I want to know anything about a modern car that I may purchase though, he’s one of the last people I’d look to.
