Can't leave without a keyboard (preferably connected to a command line interface) and hate mouse if not useful for the current task. Otherwise lost in VR on #Resonite.
Buttons are live on https://arch.dog! If you'd like to be featured, feel free to poke me - I'm planning on going through my mutuals at some point and grabbing people's verified links too :3
@arch@Oric ah yes this is classic here too but idk why i have the feeling that it just make an excuse for buy sweet food... so in the end it just completely useless and make things worst...
Also no donuts here, more local food: pain au chocolat ^^
Alright, I have a small list, but if anyone has suggestions for small server racks or nice, reasonably priced server chassis that can fit a GPU, please throw links my way 👀
Not going to be buying anything right now but putting together some plans, esp. when Black Friday rolls around.
I have the feeling my root server (os) might just be fucked.
I had issues with it for a long time, but often just small ones.
But apparently my PATH is completely fucked. Which.. is bad, because I actually use the same .zshrc on ALL of my shells.
Then the setup of my nginx isn't the best either. I'm selfhosting many things via docker, but nginx is on the machine itself, because of nextcloud. Grafana is also not in docker, because I did it like that 1 or 2 years ago.
@SteffoSpieler@blackwolf I started like you and now migrating things to docker images (but keep the data outside of a docker image because it simple for me for now). Nextcloud is one of the thing i need to move but im not expecting to be that complicated (while i didnt look into it yet)
I could maybe give some help but not an expert into that :3
So turns out my email DNS records went screwey after I did a migration and I wasn't getting emails from some people. Hopefully I didn't miss anything important 😓
@hack13@arch I move some important stuff to a mail server not manage by me, like bank and hosting services because it's like really fun when you have a problem with of this two and they absolutely want to send you an email that you need to look at related of why the mail server is down :blobfoxlaugh:
Guess I need to put together an actual homepage for easy access to my selfhosted stuff. Opting for Heimdall right now but finding it a bit slow (also LinuxServer.io images are a pain in the ass on Kubernetes). Other suggestions welcome.
@arch oh ths is pretty cool! I'm using https://github.com/Lissy93/dashy and its pretty cool! I'm not sure i look in heimdall, i should check that, at least to see what's different!
i should maybe write about the dumb stuff im doing with my projects (server and code)... But im stuck with the "what about a blog post" following by "nah not enough to say" and think about a fediverse post but finish by "nah nobody will care anyway"
@arch i mean yeah but its already write down somewhere :3 I have a documentation of nearly all my infra and some projects if it didnt fit next to the project by itself...
All is private tho, maybe what would work more for me would be a a public wiki instead of "a post" tho. For me a post in a one time writing not something with multiple versions updated overtime... which is something i like to do, coming back on stuff after month on inactivity on the subject...
So when a repository or project changes licenses, does the old license apply to all code in commits pre that change/commit, or does the new license apply retroactively as well? (I assume the former)
So I was a large #redhat fan and even dreamed of working there... But I stopped thinking about that after the IBM acquisition in 2019. I was worried something like what happened on the 21st would occur, and it did. That said, Cyberfurz LLC and I in my lab have been rocking @almalinux ever since the #centos debacle. However, at this point, I am a little concerned about the future of both #almalinux and #rockylinux with #redhat doing this.
With all this said, I might be looking to shift to @debian as the distro I use for my servers and company. For now, though, I will continue to sit on the side of using #almalinux as I feel a bit safer with them now with who backs them.
So I’ve been using #FreshRSS for my #rss#feeds lately and I have been loving it. But I need to find myself some more news sources to subscribe to. Only following @verge and the blogs for the programming languages I use.
Going to setup repo mirroring for the fursona app the same way I did for my osc-triggers project, so people can contribute with GitHub and I can just pull the patch files and apply them. The git email workflow can be a bit of a hurdle for some and I don't want that to be the thing that stops contributions https://git-send-email.io.
@arch oh yeah It's actually a good way to keep the @FurryFediverse project still on GitHub as a mirror @hack13
I just clearly don't know how to handle this process (mainly because i didn't look into how to do it yet and didn't look in general into git send email)
@arch hum... if you look how Pyrox's fursona-schema have done it, they just use the 2020-12 JSON schema specification, if i understand correctly... Best to ask @pyrox i guess
@arch@gray17 Ah yeah :/ I guess you just define some basic color like foreground/background for 2 or 3 elements and from that you can a little personnalisation but not much...
