Took a different look at #mediumwave this afternoon, as instead of an Asian session, I hooked up my UK/NAm Flag to HF+D. As a reference, let a check of Haparanda🇸🇪 KiwiSDR do, where Alaskans were listenable until ~1430z on 680, 790, 950 & 970 kHz, + a few more carriers like 1000, 1010.

So here's 680. Usually it has a naZi ruZZian NDB: BP, Chelobityevo, KO85uv. I've never measured it though... so I don't know which of these is BP, which might be KBRW... and the 3rd one?!?!?!

Fuck, I got home late for Voice of Turkiye (sic) English news @ 1830z on 5945 kHz... so I now have to look for Turkish TV streams...

The reason is obvious: #elections in #Turkey #Turkiye.

So here we go, and I think this is kinda surprising: #Erdogan #50.83% - #Kilicdaroglu 43.36%. That at least according to state-run TRT. Recent polls had been giving a 4%+ lead for the united opposition candidate...

Oh, and they do insert banner ads in their coverage 🙃

North American #solareclipse monitoring in NE Poland????????

Yeah, however long a shot it is... but this very faint trace coming on & off, peaking literally for SECONDS around 1936z (I know the time in this waterfall plot is 4h off xD) on 1129.991 kHz can't lie...

Also w/ timeanddate.com day/night/#eclipse map for 1936z attached, w/ locations of WBBR & mine overlaid. NY was in slightly less than 75% totality at the time but a full one was right on the radio waves' take-off 😅

As back in June, Polish opposition leader Donald Tusk is holding a large rally in support of their fight against the right-wing PiS government.

The rally is called #MarszMilionaSerc or #MarchOfAMillionHearts.

Uninterrupted live coverage is running even on the main TVN channel, free & nationwide on terrestrial TV.

Also on TVN24 and competing Polsat News, which are both paid... but NOT on "public" #TVPiS disInfo. I'm sure they're processing it "accordingly" though...

It's not IRIB Radio Bushehr, which is steady @ 737.9513.

Nor is it Taiwan Fishery Radio nor Xinjiang -- or what? CNR1??? I've just heard an intro of their cultural px, usually aired @ 1505z, at 1634z 😱

And no, it's not RNE Barcelona - I checked them on EA3HRU KiwiSDR, in case you're asking 🙂

Note there's also sth extra drifting up continuously - was around 738.0 at 1633z, exceeded 739 @ 1638z...

We've been waiting very loooooong for them as voting on some stations went way overtime (until 3am at one!), and counting the votes is running rather slow, but eventually here they are.

Third Way: 13.5%, 57
New Left: 8.6%, 30
Confederation: 6.4%, 14

Right-wing coalition (PiS + Conf.) = 212 seats

Whew.

We had some #sporadicE in late morning/early afternoon... but that was nothing compared to over 6 hours (!) of a HUUUUUUGE Es opening to Mallorca, Italy, Tunisia, Algeria & Greece!

Even logged 2 Greek stations as late as 2129z = 0:29am in Greece! 😱

And I have 62 IQ files totalling 45.1 GB + an hour or two (idk) of unattended scan on YT.

On live listening only, I made 173 logs. Could be more but FMLIST didn't cooperate at some point.

Europe's total? 9366 logs from 229 DXers 😬🤯✈ #fmdx

1503 kHz: weak wobbly carrier, presumed from China 🇨🇳, seen around 1500z today here in NE Poland. I've seen the same thing - and even heard the audio - some 5-6 years back on a Tokyo area KiwiSDR, as "whisperized" instrumental music battling with JOUK... impressive it's been left out like this for so many years 🥴 #mediumwave #mwdx #OddballCarrierOfTheDay

Outstandingly, #mediumwave band remains chock-full of Asian DX on Joensuu🇫🇮 #KiwiSDR, despite such a massive solar flare almost an hour ago 😯 ... although only from about 900 kHz up.

Note both 1566 and 945 kHz suffering from #ChineseRumblers: on the former, this has been IDed as Yanbian PBS #jamming FEBC with not just rumbling but also rumbly audio, as if both the carrier and the 33*n (Hz) sidebands were modulated!

But in case of 945 kHz... well, that's unexplainable.

When considering the future of #BBC Radio 4 #longwave service, many people seem to forget there are a couple #mediumwave fillers active. Would we allow them to let go too?

The answer is... yes -- and even earlier than 198 kHz, as there's no Teleswitch, no time signals, no bells & whistles accompanying these mostly low-power relays.

And as it turns out, we only have some 3 weeks left to listen to them!

No to przez ostatni tydzień nie oglądałem bo #Eurowizja 😁 także się nie wypowiem.

Natomiast wiem że Andrzej już chyba ze 2 miesiące nagrywa test Tecsuna PL-330... i dalej nie może nagrać, bo bus XD

Co jeszcze śmieszniejsze, po zrobieniu tego testu on miał go dać swojej mamie, jako radio "w razie W". No cóż, jak na razie ani filmu, ani radia u mamy... 😆

Back in Dec 2022, Radio ZET reported on US Secret Service passing Ukrainian President Zelenskyy through #Poland territory w/out asking Polish counterpart for help due to apparent mistrust.
