At @midcamp, I gave a lightning talk about the greatest and worst idea I have had for four years.

An interoperability layer for #Drupal to keep running legacy code.

what if you could migrate from D7 -> D10 without rewriting all of your code? what if we only needed to migrate data and refactor legacy code over time? how many Drupal 7 sites could this unblock?

There are various things I love about #Drupal that just work and I don't need to think about.

Like uploading files if there is an existing file of the same name.

• EXISTS_REPLACE: replace the file
• EXISTS_RENAME: append an increment on file name
• EXISTS_ERROR do nothing

This toot is brought to you by: I am currently fiddling with implementing file uploads in Laravel and now I need to build this logic myself.

One solution would be leveraging a hash, but I don't want to.
