Oh now I remembered another reason I don't like #firefox

Their app for Android is broken, it opens a new tab every time you press the home button instead of just going to the start page. And since I really use the sync function to sync between desktop and mobile... I can't use that until that's fixed. Which sucks.

So, for now Chrome it is. Still.

Kicking the undead horse: As I have stated before #BG3 cannot be the industry standard due to the fact that Larian is in the position of being an Indie developer that is AA+ in size. I don't know of any other Indie developer that has 200+ employees in offices all over the world?

However, PLAYERS will not make this distinction, players WILL hold future games from any of the big developers to the standard of this game and there will be much implosions of forums and worse still.

Having an AI ("Windows Recall" is enabled by default) that tracks every move you do on your computer and of course has no filter (Microsoft's own FAQ clearly states it will remember every password you type) is idiotic. But Tech bros are frothing at the mouth for anything AI so here we are.

Rember how i had a mini rant about #Lemmy being a bad name for a program just because it drowns in searches?

Their homepage is still awful. Just the top pitch will turn away 99% of non-techies: "Lemmy, A link aggregator for the #fediverse."

Imagine looking for a #Reddit alternative for your daily shitposting and Wholesome Fantasy Art and ending up at a page filled with code and calling itself "a Link Aggregator" instead of... I don't know, "open source alternative for Reddit"?

Given that I have a sticker on my (physical) mailbox that says "No ads allowed" that legally have to be respected, I think there will be an interesting developement if YouTube tries to really push the "no adblockers allowed" in the EU.

So far they have only pushed the soft warning (the popup) and that alrady have had lawmakers in the EU react.

Is it me, or is #Shadowrun far more on the side of #Punk in the #Cyberpunk spectrum while #Cyberpunk2077 is far more into the #Cyber part?

Seriously, I have never played the Cyberpunk TTRPG but the computer game, as fun as it is, is basically just "poserpunk".

It is extra funny because at least a few years back a lot of Cyberpunk fans did not count Shadowrun part of the genre since it had "fantasy stuff" in it.

How the Internet would be the great Equalizer?

...And then compare it to reality?

Point is Social Scientists and Tech Bros seem to be the absolute worst at predicting what tech will actually do.

The Swedish word for Hedgehog is Igelkott, which directly translated, as far as I can tell, is "Leech-pinecone"

I... can only guess that it has to do with feeding habits plus being "scaly"?

Edit: I was offered a plausible explanation below, a borrowed word from Low German / Medieval German probably imported to Visby on Gotland where they were held as pets (Visby was a Hansa Town). Hence why the "Igel" part really don't make sense in Swedish.

Hot take:

"The Blackwall" is to Cyberpunk 2077 as "Hell" is to any fantasy setting.

An "AI from behind the blackwall" is literally just a Deus Ex Machina / Eldritch god that can do anything. It evaporates any claims Cyberpunk 2077 (or 2020, or...) has as "Hard Sci Fi" and just turns it into Science Fantasy.

I am once again getting the urge to install EndeavorOS but I... only use it to run firefox on it.

Seriously, this is the biggest reason I stopped using Linux; I don't actually use it for anything but browsing the web since gaming just is so much more convinient on Windows and I'm not into Linux for ideological reasons (yet).

I ALSO stopped because the number of bat shit racist libertarians on Linux forums I frequented were souring the experience. But that's another matter.
